Triple Play: For the third straight season, Team Penske will compete as a full-season, three-car team. Team Penske finished second (Power), sixth (Briscoe) and 11th (Castroneves) in 2011 championship standings.
New Year, New Car: In 2012 Team Penske will begin its pursuit of a championship with a new engine partner as Chevrolet rejoins the IndyCar Series this season with Ilmor Engineering providing support. The IZOD IndyCar series also welcomes the new DW12 chassis design in 2012 and the new car is expected to be a faster and safer car for the competitors.
Premier Partners: Team Penske is proud to continue its relationship with existing partners and welcome several new sponsors to its family in 2012. Briscoe will continue to compete with IZOD as a sponsor of the No. 2 car, Shell-Pennzoil will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 3 car driven by Castroneves at St. Petersburg and Power will drive the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske for the entire season. Castroneves, Briscoe and Power have all earned temporary road course victories over the last several seasons and the team overall has produced 27 poles and 17 wins at road/street course venues since 2007. Team Penske is well positioned to start the 2012 season as the first four races are all held at street or road circuits.
