Last off-season, the Px2 Racing team went through a tough time with the passing of some of their team members.
“Our sponsor and friend Terry Puckett, loved cousin and friend Joe Geniole Jr, and the hardest for me was my best friend Spanky(our dog),” Paul Geniole Jr. said. “With saying that we kept our heads high and were led by our friends above and I believe Px2 Racing really showed what were going to be capable of in the near future.”
This season, the young driver had his best season to date, finishing third in points and scoring his first feature win after holding off Dan Archibald for the victory.
“It was a huge accomplishment for my dad and I,” he said. “Our hard work really paid off that night. We are really studying hard and putting all our knowledge together to make our car faster every week!”
Geniole Jr. completed the season with one feature win, 11 top fives and 14 top 10s in the 14 nights, along with three heat wins.
One of the things that helped Geniole Jr. along the way was gaining knowledge from top Canadian chassis builder Mike McColl.
“I had the great oppurtunity to join the team at McColl Racing half way through the year and that in itself was an absolutely outstanding experience,” he said. “Mike McColl and the guys really taught me a lot and I felt at home from the day I started.”
With a solid season under his belt, Geniole Jr. is excited for the new season ahead.
“We’ll be ready for this season now more than ever, we have a championship in sight,” he said. “We are currently working on putting heat into our garage so there will be more studying and preparing this year to further improve our car.”
For their support this past season, Geniole Jr. would like to thanks his sponsors for all of their help: Canadian Tire and Jeff Hodgkinson, Robert Ratusny Criminal Lawyer, Graham Connor Painting, Trillium Welding, Brown Brothers Roofing, Priggen Automotive and Wendy Condon.
With that said, the Px2 Racing team is looking for more sponsors to help with their efforts as they continue to get stronger. If you are interested, you can get in contact with Paul Geniole Jr. and team via facebook – https://www.facebook.com/Px2Racing – or via twitter – 81Px2Racing.
