MINERSVILLE, PA – May 19th, 2014
Preliminary weather reports call for a maximum chance of awesome on-track excitement at Big Diamond Speedway this coming Friday, May 23rd.
The Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Savage 61 Roadrunners, and ARDC MIDGETS will make up the racing card on this evening. Gates will open at 5 PM, warm-ups at 7:45 PM, and first heat hits the track at 8:15 PM.
Ray Swinehart, the winner last time out on May 9th, will be looking for his second win in a row in the DIRTcar 358 Modifeds, but it won’t be easy. Two time defending track champion Craig Von Dohren, May 2nd feature winner Billy Pauch Jr., Jeff Strunk, Rick Laubach, current point leader Meme Desantis, Frank Cozze, Stewart Friesen, Duane Howard and Doug Manmiller head up a list of “who’s who” in 358 Modified racing looking for their first victory of the season at Big Diamond. It will be interesting to see who will end up in victory lane after 25 laps of door to door action.
The ARDC Midget will be making their first of two appearances this season at Big Diamond, led by one time winner and current point leader Steven Drevicki. PJ Gargiulo was the winner last time out for the ARDC Midgets at New Egypt Speedway, and will look to make it two in a row. Don’t count out last years point champion Trevor Kobylarz, plus a host of others looking for win #1 on the season. ARDC always puts on a great show, and this night should be no different.
Tim Fitzpatrick Jr. has suddenly become the man to beat in the Savage 61 Roadrunners, winning the last two feature events, both in exciting fashion. As is normally the case with the Roadrunner division, the winner is never known until the final lap. Looking to put an end to Fitzpatrick Jr’s streak will be two time winner Tom Hablett, one time winner Jeremy Becker, and many, many more.
Adult general admission for this Friday’s event is $17.00, students ages 13 to 17, seniors, and active military are $15.00 (all with valid ID). As always, kids 12 and under are free.
Come on out and start your Memorial Day Weekend with a bang at Big Diamond Speedway.
