Kyle Busch wins pole for UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway

With only approximately 40 seconds left on the clock in the final round of knock-out qualifying, Kyle Busch and group left pit road to hit the track for their make or break lap. Hitting the stripe just before the clock expired, Busch’s next lap was the one that would count and the driver of the No. 51 Toyota Tundra made it count as he posted the quickest lap.

Busch’s lap of 30.702 seconds will allow Busch to lead the field to green for the 15th time in his career and the third time this season. Busch has made four previous truck starts this year, winning each of those previous starts.

Darrell Wallace Jr. qualified second to give Kyle Busch Motorsports their first front row ever in the Camping World Truck Series. Jeb Burton qualified third as he continues to jell with ThorSport Racing, followed by rookie Ben Kennedy and Johnny Sauter.

German Quiroga qualified sixth, followed by Timothy Peters, Ron Hornaday, Joey Coulter and Ryan Blaney.

Austin Dillon would get into the wall during his lap, resulting in repairs having to be made to his truck before tonight’s race.
