On the verge of making NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history, Matt Crafton would lead first practice for the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. As long as Crafton finishes 21st or better on Friday night, he will win his second straight series Championship.
Brad Keselowski Racing teammates Tyler Reddick and Ryan Blaney would time in second and third. Reddick ended up second as he looks for his first career win, while Blaney is trying to have the best finish possible in hopes of catching Crafton for the championship. Crafton’s teammate Johnny Sauter was fourth, with German Quiroga rounding out the top five. Quiroga is still searching for his first career win after posting some solid top-fives this year.
Ben Kennedy was sixth, followed by Jeb Burton, John Wes Townley, Ross Chastain and Timothy Peters.
