In final practice for the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ryan Blaney would top the practice with a lap of 32.531 seconds.
Blaney is searching for his first truck series championship and has a shot, should he mathematically gain more points than Matt Crafton on Friday night. Crafton has to finish 21st or better to clinch automatically. Blaney’s Brad Keselowski Racing teammate Tyler Reddick was second quickest as he searches for his first career victory. Reddick has been strong the past couple of weeks, posting a string of top-10 finishes.
Erik Jones and Kyle Busch each made laps in the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports truck, timing in third quickest, with Busch set to pilot the truck on Friday night. Ross Chastain and Spencer Gallagher rounded out the top-five.
Joe Nemechek was sixth, followed by Jeb Burton, Darrell Wallace Jr., Kyle Larson and Daniel Hemric. Points leader Crafton was 17th quickest.
