Work has begun on the demolition of an existing restroom facility and the construction of a new one in the second-turn area of Martinsville Speedway.
This construction marks the replacement of all original fan restrooms at the speedway. The completion date for the project is early March, well before the STP 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend scheduled for March 27-29.
“The new restroom being constructed in turn two is the fourth new restroom complex built here in the past five years, replacing buildings that have been here for more than 50 years,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “It’s our commitment to our fans to continue the process of updating our facilities and provide them with the amenities they expect.”
The new building, located behind the Clay Earles Tower in turn two, will be approximately 1,500 square feet. It will contain full men’s and women’s restroom facilities, including baby-changing stations. Both restrooms will be handicap accessible.
Tickets for the STP 500 weekend, including the Virginia Lottery Pole Day on March 27 and the Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on March 28 and the STP 500 on March 29 are on sale and may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or visitingwww.martinsvillespeedway.com.
