Red Horse Racing announced on Wednesday, December 17th that Ben Kennedy will drive for the organization in 2015, behind the wheel of the No. 11 Toyota Tundra.
“I am very excited to return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2015 and to be driving for Red Horse Racing,” Kennedy said. “The team has a solid foundation in the Camping World Truck Series, celebrating their 10th year in 2015. It will be an honor to drive the No. 11 Toyota Tundra, the winningest number in NASCAR history.”
Kennedy had a successful season last year driving for Turner-Scott Motorsports, winning the Sonoco Rookie of the Year Award with seven top-10s in 22 races. Before moving into the truck series, Kennedy won the Pro-Truck Championship in 2009, Super Late Model Championship in 2010 and finished fourth in the K&N Pro Series East standings in 2013. Kennedy was left without a ride at the end of the season with TSM closing shop doors as owners Steve Turner and Harry Scott Jr. filed lawsuits against each other.
Red Horse Racing has been a fixture in the truck series, entering their 10th season of competition. RHR also confirmed that Timothy Peters will return to the No. 17 truck in 2015 after finishing fifth in points last season with a win and nine top-fives in 22 races. German Quiroga also drove for RHR in 2014, but will not return as a result of losing sponsorship.
