Stewart-Haas Racing announced that Regan Smith will continue his duties as the interim driver of the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Smith has driven the car for the first two races of the season, finishing 16th and 17th.
Sunday’s race marks Smith’s sixth Sprint Cup Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with his highest finish coming with a 15th in 2012.
Smith is also running the full XFINITY schedule this year for JR Motorsports.
SHR also announced, “a driver for the No. 41 team at next weekend’s Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway and subsequent races has not been determined”.
