Probably the most unique and interesting race format will kick off the 2015 Ontario Short Track Season this weekend at Full Throttle Motor Speedway.
The rules are simple – build a safe car for racing on a speedway. Run what you brung is what a race of this variety of normally called. However, there’s a catch – you must leave your car at the speedway when you leave as you cannot take home the car with you. The idea is to see the creativity that comes out of it, while keeping the cost down and having fun with it. You can call it a return to “grassroots racing”, if you please.
It’s also cheap for the fans to come out in watch – a simple donation to the local food bank will get you into watch the afternoon of fun racing.
Oh yeah, the fun catch – the winner will take home a turn key sprint car of their own, to do with as they please. They may run it this season, or sell it to someone else. Either way, it’s a good time had by all.
A couple of entries were shared with OnPitRoad.com before the event, and can be viewed below. This is only a touch of creativity that is being used this weekend so be sure to come on out to Full Throttle Motor Speedway.
