After a duel with EJ Viso on the last lap, Sheldon Creed would come out victorious in the first of two races for the Stadium Super Trucks at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Creed set the quickest time in practice on Friday afternoon, as well. The victory marks a continuation of success for the 17-year-old as he won a couple of events last season, and won the second race of three in Adelaide earlier this year. He would finish second overall in Australia.
Keegan Kincaid kept his positive momentum rolling, finishing second to go with his victory in the third event in Adelaide. Adelaide’s overall winner Robby Gordon would round out the podium in St. Petersburg, followed by Viso and Burt Jenner.
Bill Hynes and Charles Dorrance would finish sixth and seventh, respectively. Unfortunately, Lato Laguna, Erik Davis and Scotty Steele would all fail to finish the event.
All of the drivers will have another chance at victory when the Stadium Super Trucks return to the St. Petersburg street/airport course for their second race of the weekend at 2:10 p,m. EST.
