For the 11th time in the last 14 feature events, Taylor Holdaway would visit victory lane as he led flag-to-flag en route to scoring the victory in the Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Limited Late Model feature at Sunset Speedway.
Holdaway started off the night by timing in quickest behind the wheel of his No. 41 Holdaway Automotive, Imagefactor.ca Motorsports Design and Photography, Wix Filters, Castrol Canada, Kart Start presented by Toyota, Sunshine Super Wash, and Stefko Racing Engines Late Model with a lap of 14.724 seconds.
Starting on the pole, Holdaway grabbed the early advantage ahead of Jason Witty as Gord Shepherd and Tom Walters battled for third. Walters would get the third spot on lap five as Nick Goetz got alongside Shepherd for fourth. The caution would then fly, though, for an incident between Brittney Gresel and Frank Davey in turn two. With 30 laps to go, Holdaway led Witty, Walters, Shepherd, Goetz, Scott Wylie, Dwight Brown, Mike Brown, Ian Bourque, Chris Morrow, Mike Wilkinson, Billy Zardo, Travis Hallyburton and Jordan Latimer.
The restart would see a battle for the lead between Holdaway and Witty, with Holdaway grabbing the lead ahead of the driver of the No. 19 R&W Equipment, Queensville Sod, Carrot Express, Matco Tools, Speedy Auto Machine and LaRues Haulage Late Model on lap nine.
Walters would continue to run third as Shepherd and Goetz continued their battle for second. The battle would once again be cut short, though, this time for an incident between Maltese and Bartlett in turn two. With 25 laps to go, Walters led Witty, Walters, Shepherd, Goetz, Dwight Brown, Wylie, Bourque, Mike Brown, Morrow, Latimer, Zardo and Hallyburton.
The first attempt at a restart would see a jump by Holdaway. The second attempt would go cleanly, with Holdaway having the advantage ahead of Witty and Walters as Goetz cleared Shepherd for fourth at lap 14. Behind them, Wylie ran sixth ahead of Dwight Brown, Bourque, Mike Brown and Latimer as Allan Inglis and Morrow battled for 11th.
The caution would then fly, though, as Rick Terry would go around in turn four. Under caution, Goetz would be given the mechanical blackflag as he had started smoking back on lap nine with a gearing issue. He would head down pit road to the attention of his team, before returning to the track at the back of the field. Morrow would also head down under caution for adjustments. With 16 laps to go, Holdaway led Witty, Walters, Shepherd, Wylie, Dwight Brown, Bourque, Latimer, Mike Brown, Hallyburton and Inglis.
The restart saw Holdaway and Witty battle for the lead side-by-side once again, with Holdaway grabbing the advantage on lap 24 ahead of Witty. Walters would continue to run third ahead of Shepherd and Wylie as Bourque and Dwight Brown battled for sixth. Bourque would get the spot on lap 27, with Latimer following him through for seventh a lap later. Brown now ran eighth ahead of Mike Brown and Inglis.
Inglis would look for ninth on Mike Brown, but the caution would fly for Keeler stalling. With six laps to go, Holdaway led Witty, Walters, Shepherd, Wylie, Bourque, Latimer, Dwight Brown and Mike Brown.
The final restart would see a battle for the lead, with Taylor Holdaway taking the advantage with two laps to go and leading the rest of the way en route to the victory. Jason Witty finished second, followed by Tom Walters, Gord Shepherd, Scott Wylie, Ian Bourque, Jordan Latimer, Dwight Brown, Al Inglis, Mike Brown, Nick Goetz, Mike Wilkinson, Billy Zardo, Travis Hallyburton, Ernie Fumerton, Frank Davey, Dave Bartlett, Chris Morrow, Paul Maltese, Andre Pepin and Rick Terry.
