Starting near the front of both 25 lap features, Robert Warnes would take the lead early in both features, scoring a pair of victories. Meanwhile, Donny Beatty did what he had to do with a pair of solid runs to score the 2015 Ontario Modified Racing Series Championship.
For OMRS, they completed their qualifying heats on October 2nd, so they’d go straight off on Saturday with their first feature.
Rick Warnes would start pole ahead of Bill Burrows, Rob Warnes, Randy Hollingsworth, Ryan Dick, Chad Strawn, Nick Lees, Donny Beatty, John Baker Jr., Gary Elliott, Willow Barberstock and Chris Borrows.
The caution would fly right on lap one as Hollingsworth would go for the spin, with Strawn having nowhere to go; Strawn would be forced pit side with heavy suspension damage.
On the second attempt at starting the race, Bill Burrows would grab the lead ahead of Rick Warnes. Baker Jr., who was considered a strong early favourite, would pull off with problems on lap six. Meanwhile, Borrows would continue to lead while Rob Warnes moved up into second ahead of Beatty and Dick. Warnes would continue his climb to the front, taking the lead on lap 11, while Elliott passed Dick for fourth three laps later.
At the front of the field, Rob Warnes would lead the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory Bill Burrows, Donny Beatty, Gary Elliott, Ryan Dick, Nick Lees, Rick Warnes, Randy Hollingsworth, Chris Burrows and Willow Barberstock.
For the second feature, Rick Warnes would start pole once again ahead of Bill Burrows, Rob Warnes, Randy Hollingsworth, Ryan Dick, Nick Lees, Donny Beatty, Gary Elliott, John Baker Jr., Chad Strawn, Chris Borrows and Willow Barberstock.
The early laps would see Rob Warnes and Bill Burrows run side-by-side for the lead, with Rob Warnes taking the lead on lap three ahead of Burrows; Rick Warnes would then pass Burrows to move up into second at lap four. Dick would run fourth ahead of Beatty. Beatty would then fall back to fifth on lap nine after being passed by Strawn.
Strawn’s charge back to the front continued with a pass on Dick at lap 16 to move up to fourth. Elliott would also slip by Dick to move up into fifth, with Beatty now running seventh. Strawn would then get by Bill Burrows to move up to third at lap 19, with Elliott following him through. The trend would continue as Strawn would get by Rick Warnes for second at lap 22, with Elliott following him through to move into third.
Richard Warnes would lead the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Chad Strawn, Gary Elliott, Rick Warnes, Bill Burrows, Ryan Dick, Donny Beatty and Nick Lees with Lees going for a spin on the last lap. Chris Burrows and Willow Barberstock would round out the field.
