Tony Kannan, driver of the No. 10 NTT Data Chevrolet, was fastest with the speed of 226.280.
Carlos Munoz, driver of the No. 26 United Fiber and Data Honda, was second fastest with a speed of 224.722, followed by Scott Dixon, driver of the No . 9 Chevrolet, with the speed of 224.606. Will Power, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet was fourth fastest with the speed of 224.384, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay, driver of the No. 28 DHL Honda, fifth fastest with the speed of 224.327
Rounding out the top-10 was Alexander Rossi, JR Hilderbrand, Oriol Servia Townsend Bell and Helio Castroneves.
There were two issues with two Honda teams in Carb Day practice.
Marco Andretti, driver of the No. 27 Snapple Honda, missed the majority of practice because his crew has to change the steering arms on his car, while Pippa Mann, driver of the No. 63 Susan G Komen Honda, lost control of her car going into turn 4 and damaged the back end of the car.
