Carlos Munoz, driver of the No. 26 Andretti Autosport Honda, won the Verizon P1 Award for the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway, with the speed of 217.137.
Scott Dixon, driver of the No. 9 Target Chevrolet, qualified in the second position, with the speed of 216.901.
Helio Castroneves, driver of the No.3 AAA Chevrolet, qualified in the third position, with the speed of 216.740.
Takuma Sato, driver of the No. 14 ABC Supplies Honda, qualified in the fourth position, with the speed of 216.740.
Josef Newgarden, driver of the No. 21 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet, qualified in the fifth position, with the speed of 216.684.
Rounding out the top-10 were Simon Pagenaud, Will Power, Tony Kanaan, Alexander Rossi and James Hinchcliffe.
Gabby Chaves will start from the back as he could not qualify the car because of repairs being made after his wreck in first practice. There were no other issues or incidents in qualifications.
