The last time IndyCar raced on the Road America circuit was back on August 12, 2007 when the series was called Champ Car. Sebastien Bourdais, who was driving for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing back then was the winner of the race. Bourdais had finished on the podium in the three races prior in 2004, 2005 and 2006 before finally winning there.
Now almost ten years later, IndyCar is back racing at the track and the French man is looking to carry his momentum into the race. Bourdais won the first race in the Dual at Detroit at Bell Isle Park and finished in the top-10 in the second Dual at Detroit. Adding those to his top-10 at the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500, he has three top-10s in the last three races.
With momentum on his side, Bourdais says he is really looking forward to racing at Road America again as its his favorite road course in the United States and reminds him of some of the tracks he has raced on in Europe.
“KVSH Racing had a good race car at the only permanent road course we’ve raced on this year at Barber, so the Hydroxycut machine should be fast right off the truck,” Bourdais said. “Hopefully, we can keep my streak of podiums at Road America alive or even get our second win of the season.”
