Sebastien Bourdais, driver of the No. 11 Hydroxycut Chevrolet, was quickest in the first practice for the Honda Indy Toronto, with the speed of 102.172.
Scott Dixon was second fastest with the speed of 102.100, followed by Simon Pagenaud in third with the speed of 101.856.
Completing the top-five was Honda powered drivers Takuma Sato with the speed of 101.746 and Graham Rahal with the speed of 101.632.
Topping off the top-10 was Will Power, Tony Kanaan, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Helio Castroneves, and Mikhail Aleshin.
