Timothy Peters is no stranger to victory lane at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and with a win tonight, the veteran driver would secure his spot in the next round of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase.
Peters was quickest in the second round of qualifying, and earned the pole for Saturday night’s DC Solar 350 at Las Vegas. Peters’ pole lap of 30.690 was good enough to outrun two-time series champion Matt Crafton by half a tenth.
Starting behind Peters and Crafton will be non-Chase driver Cole Custer followed by Ben Kennedy and Las Vegas native Spencer Gallagher.
Daniel Hemric, who was fastest in first practice and second in final practice, will start sixth. John Wes Townley, Ben Rhodes, Cameron Hayley and William Byron round out the top-10.
While five Chase drivers qualified in the top-10, three wound up further behind. Johnny Sauter and John Hunter Nemechek will start 14th and 15th, and Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Christopher Bell qualified 18th.
