After consistent rain and no window to get the race in, NASCAR has announced that they haveĀ postponed the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway to Monday at 1 p.m. on FOX.
Rain has been an issue all weekend, but it hit the track again last night forcing NASCAR to call the K&N Pro Series East race short after only 70 laps where Harrison Burton was declared the winner. Consistent rains over night and then again this morning drowned the track with water. The forecast for the rest of the day wasn’t looking any better, so NASCAR made the call this morning to postpone.
The forecast tomorrow is looking better with only a 20 per cent chance of rain when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage opens at 9 a.m. Temperatures are looking nice with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 52 degrees with an overall chance of rain sitting at 30 per cent.
When the race goes green tomorrow Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott will start on the front row.
