As he does most Monday afternoons, NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Racing Development Officer Steve O’Donnell went on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He believes NASCAR provides a level playing field for all manufacturers. This came four days after Brad Keselowski took to twitter addressing that he felt like the sport is in for a “rude awakening” after Toyota finished first-fourth in practice on Friday.
We are all in for a rude awakening.
Haven't seen NASCAR let a manufacturer get this far ahead since the 70s https://t.co/LttpCz9vJZ— Brad Keselowski (@keselowski) September 15, 2017
The tweet led to a back-and-forth battle between Cole Pearn, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch defending Toyota or at least going against what Keselowski had to say.

It's 2017. When you're about to lose an argument you call people names rather than face facts. https://t.co/IJnFiQOAXY

Were you alive in the 70s ? 🤔

.@NASCAR is showing favoritism to @ToyotaRacing 😂😂 when did this start? #encumbered. Concentrate on your own program bro.

The argument wasn’t helped after Kyle Busch won the pole for Sunday’s race in Chicago by almost two miles per hour faster than the second place car which happened to be the Toyota of Denny Hamlin.
“Certainly our job is to put a level playing field out there,” O’Donnell said. “We’ve got a process that each of the (manufacturers) goes through and kind of witnesses. We believe they are on a level playing field.
“I look at it as a little bit of posturing. Brad certainly ran well this weekend. At the end of the day, you’ve had that car all year long. It’s the playoffs, and you have to go out there and deliver.”
In my opinion it seems strange that you can have the t s and one chevy run that well on all tracks . thank heavens Brad calls them on it .
I agree with Brad! NASCAR does more to promote Toyota and KB than any other driver or manufacturer!
