Jones Gears Up for Mile-and-a-Half Debut at Kansas Speedway
Kansas Speedway First-Timer… Friday night’s NCWTS 250 marks Brandon Jones’ first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Kansas Speedway. Jones, driver of the No. 33 MasterForce Chevrolet, aims to build on his team’s solid performance coming out of Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Kansas will be Jones’ second NCWTS start of the 2015 season.
Mile-and-a-Half Initiation… At the age of 18, Jones will make his first start on a one-and-a-half-mile track in the NCWTS 250.
In the Rearview Mirror – Martinsville… Six weeks ago at Martinsville, Jones’ first NCWTS start of 2015 resulted in a 15th-place finish. Jones posted the 17th fastest time in practice, qualified sixth, and ran near the top five for nearly half of the race. After three of 23 races, the No. 33 truck sits fifth in the NCWTS Owner Standings.
Chasing a Milestone… Chevrolet has 199 race wins through the 21 year history of the NCWTS. The manufacturer is seeking the milestone, 200th NCWTS win, and the first since September of 2014. GMS Racing offers Chevrolet two prime opportunities to reach the 200 win plateau, with Jones, and teammate Spencer Gallagher in the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet.
Kansas Chassis Choice… The MasterForce Team has selected chassis No. 018 for Friday night’s event. This particular Chevrolet was last piloted by teammate Spencer Gallagher at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway in 2014.

BRANDON JONES QUOTE:
On expectations for Kansas Speedway:
“I haven’t raced on the mile-and-a-half tracks, so I’m really excited to get to Kansas Speedway this weekend. We did our rookie test at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in the winter, and with how well that test went, I can’t wait to get on track and into the race. GMS Racing has had fast Chevrolets so far this season, so hopefully we can continue that performance this weekend with our MasterForce Tools Silverado and get a solid finish.”
On adjusting to racing at one-and-a-half mile speedways:
“I’ve raced at a lot of racetracks over the last few years that I’ve had to learn on the spot, so that experience should help this year. I am really excited to race at the mile-and-a-half tracks. We tested at Charlotte (Motor Speedway) last winter, and it went very well. That’s a type of racing that I haven’t been able to do yet due to previous age limitations, but I am really looking forward to the bigger tracks.”
