On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Eric Yorke would make his 2015 season debut. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as intended as a mid-race incident resulted in a 14th place finish.
Yorke started off the night on a good note, finishing fourth, automatically qualifying him for the feature later that night. He would then finish seventh in the fast qualifier’s dash.
The redraw for the feature would place Yorke in the seventh starting spot, with him quickly moving into the sixth spot. He would then catch Billy Melenhorst in hopes of cracking the top-five. However, in the midst of the battle for position, contact would be made, resulting in Yorke having to restart the feature from the back of the field.
He would get a good restart, moving quickly back up to the ninth spot, though fell back to 10th when he was passed by defending series champion Brandon McFerran right before the caution at lap 14. The last 10 laps wouldn’t go as Yorke wanted as he continued to fall back in position, completing the feature in the 14th spot.
