Unfortunately, Saturday night at Sunset Speedway did not go as Lisa DeLeeuw would’ve hoped for as she finished the Mighty Mini feature in the 19th spot.
She would start off the night with an eighth place finish in her heat, resulting in having to run the last chance qualifier event. She would then finish eighth in the last chance qualifier, placing herself in the feature later that evening.
With her qualifying effort in the books, DeLeeuw would start the feature from the 19th position. She would get off to a solid note, staying on the lead lap and in contention till the first caution flew at lap eight. Under the caution, the rain would grow heavy, resulting in the race being brought to a stop.
When the race resumed after an hour and a half delay, followed by the late model feature, she would continue to race hard, running 17th as of the second caution at lap 12. she would continue to battle hard, unfortunately falling a lap down to the lead, before finishing the feature in the 19th spot.
