After a very successful weekend of racing at Sunset Speedway, The HOOSIER Mods, and Midas of Orangeville Midgets are heading to the bull ring, better known as Full Throttle Motor Speedway. The high banks of Full Throttle are deep in racing history and OSCAAR is excited to return to the speedway this weekend.
This event will also see the HOOSIER Mods compete in round 1 of the Rick Woolner Memorial event. Rick had great success at Full Throttle Motor Speedway and the modified drivers are excited to be racing in his memory on Saturday.
The complete schedule of events can be found on the OSCAAR website at www.oscaar.ca or at www.fullthrottlemotorspeedway.com.
The HOOSIER OSCAAR Modified Series: RICK Woolner Memorial Round #1
As the HOOSIER Mod teams are preparing for the 50 lap Rick Woolner Memorial, everyone has to be wondering what they have to do to stop the #8 of Gary McLean. The #8 team heads into their home turf with back to back feature wins and as defending Memorial Champion, and the determination to add their name to the trophy yet again. As we all know in racing anything can happen and with the tight racing at Full Throttle nothing can be guaranteed. One driver that will be looking to end McLean’s reign is rookie #79h Cory Horner. With two podium finishes in the first two events, Cory would have to be one of the favorites to win. #36 Gary Elliott returns to the track that he recorded his first modified win at and would love nothing more than to add another win to that total. The #77 of Chad Strawn has shown the speed to win in the past two events, with some good luck on his side they could be very easily celebrating in victory lane. The home town Modified drivers of Brian McLean and Tommy Robb would love nothing better than to be the one that ends the #8 stranglehold on first. The Rookies, of Baker JR, Price, Balych and Hearty will all be making their first ever start at Full Throttle. Rookie AJ Emms has shown the consistency to run in the top ten, and with his experience at the track could sneak in for the win. Perhaps it could be the mystery driver in the green car with no numbers?
The HOOSIER Mods will start the evening with time trials, to see who can have bragging rights as the fastest Mod in Ontario. There will be a complete set of qualifying then the 50 lap main event. New for 2015 the overall Rick Woolner Memorial winner will be the driver with the best average finish when the series returns in September for round 2.
Fans will be on the edge of their seats as the HOOSIER Mods go wheel to wheel at sub 12 sec laps for 50 laps of racing excitement

The Midas of Orangeville Midget Series:
This weekends’ event will be the fourth event for the Midas Midgets and if fans have learned anything this season, who will be celebrating in victory lane is anyone’s guess. With three different feature winners in three events has keep things exciting on the track and the points close as the top five are separated by less than 20 points. The high banks of Full Throttle Speedway is the perfect place to showcase the talent of the drivers in the midget series. With two and three wide racing throughout the field fans will have a hard time keeping up with the racing action. With all three previous feature winners (Jamie Bound, Richard Woodland and Robin McLean) scheduled to be in attendance this weekend, will we see a repeat winner or yet another new face celebrating in victory lane. With the depth of talent in this class picking a winner is near impossible. The impressive Rookie field continue to impress with the #5 of Jody Bound leading the rookie standings over #13 Craig Deacon and #71 Wayne McKibbon. The midgets will run a complete show of heat races, a “B” main if necessary and a 30 lap feature event.
