In the first practice ahead of the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 at Texas Motor Speedway, defending series champion Matt Crafton would top the charts with a lap of 30.023 seconds.
Crafton enters this weekend sitting second in points, 10 points Erik Jones. Notably, Crafton has finished in the top-five in his last three starts at Texas, including a pair of wins.
Daniel Suarez was second quickest coming off of a second place finish in the spring, 0.092 seconds off of Crafton. Spencer Gallagher and Brandon Jones would follow as all three of these drivers search for their first career victory. Timothy Peters was fifth quickest as he looks to bounce back following a day of spins at Martinsville last week.
Daniel Hemric was sixth quickest, followed by John Hunter Nemechek, Jesse Little, Jeb Burton and Tyler Reddick. Notably, points leader Erik Jones was 14th quickest in th session.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is set to return to the track at 4:30 pm CT for a 45-minute session ahead of Friday night’s race.
