NASCAR Home Tracks and NASCAR Canada officials have revealed that they have found a company to replace Canadian Tire as the title sponsor of the NASCAR’s Canadian touring series. NASCAR has stated that the new sponsor will be announced on Monday, December 12.
Canadian Tire has sponsored the series since its inception in 2007, though announced mid-way through the 2015 season that they would not return for 2016.
Le Journal de Montreal is reporting that Pinty’s will be named as the replacement sponsor on Monday as part of a report surrounding Autodrome Chaudiere. Pinty’s Foods, known for their pub inspired food that includes chicken wings, partnered with NASCAR in 2012 to become the official wingman of the series.
“We love our wings at Pinty’s just as much as we love our racing and partnership with NASCAR in Canada! NASCAR and Pinty’s are the perfect partners; NASCAR is in the business of entertainment and Pinty’s is in the business of ‘eatertainment,'” Tony Spiteri, Vice-President of Marketing, Pinty’s Delicious Foods, said in 2012.
With a series sponsor now finalized, the focus now moving forward will be finalizing the schedule, as well as seeing what drivers and teams will be on-board for the season.
There have already been announcements surrounding dates as Canadian Tire Motorsports Park already announced that the series will return twice in 2016 – May 22 and September 4. Sunset Speedway released their tentative 2016 schedule, leaving a weekend open in June for the race, currently listed as “TBA” on the schedule.
