Racing 2 Cure is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to help families that are currently fighting cancer, no matter what kind it is. Racing 2 Cure wants to treat the “Human Side” of cancer, which includes non-medical expenses not covered by insurance. Some of these needs include travel expenses, utility bills, rent, house cleaning/yard services, day care, tutoring, etc. In addition, Racing 2 Cure donates to cancer organizations that are working hard on research, treatment, and raising awareness for this horrible disease.
“Partnering with Joey (Gase) is going to take our organization to a new level. We are excited about all the different plans that will be connected with this partnership to help families fighting cancer,” stated Racing 2 Cure’s Executive Director Bradley Carpenter. “To have the 2015 Comcast Community Champion as a spokesperson for our organization will benefit us by reaching more fans and potentially more partners that can help us support additional families.”
“I am very excited to team up with Racing 2 Cure and help treat the “Human Side” of cancer one lap at a time. It will be very special to have cancer families at the track with us and help them forget about their difficulties for a while. It will also be great to have beautiful faces and names honoring cancer fighters riding around the track with me,” said Joey Gase, driver of the No. 52 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Throughout the season, Racing 2 Cure will offer the opportunity for supporters and fans to have the name or image of someone they know fighting, won, or lost their battle to cancer to ride on Gase’s car. Those interested on being Joey Gase’s car can donate and learn more via his Racing 2 Cure online donation page (http://www.racing2cure.org/joey-gase.html). In addition, Racing 2 Cure will release Joey Gase branded merchandise that will include the Racing 2 Cure logo.
