Armstrong at Dover International Speedway:
Dakoda will be making his fifth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Dover International Speedway to go along with two prior starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Armstrong has a best XFINITY Series finish of 14th at the track known as The Monster Mile which came during this event last year.
Dakoda’s Thoughts on Dover:
“Dover is a really fast track. Drivers use the word “landing” a lot at Dover because when you drive down into the corner the car gets a light feeling and then it hits max load all at once so it is crucial to be good on entry into the corner. Then you have to be good through the long corners which makes it a tough track to get a grip on.”
“We are coming off an off week which is always a great chance for drivers and teams to catch their breathe a little at this early point of the season. However, the guys on this JGL Racing team worked hard through the break and I know our No. 28 Toyota will be ready to go right off the trailer.”
Autism Support:
Dakoda and his teammate Drew Herring will both show their support for Autism Delaware’s mission during the upcoming weekend at Dover International Speedway by displaying a special decal on their cars. Autism Delaware, a leader in the First State on autism awareness since its founding in 1998, is working with AAA Mid-Atlantic to raise funds and awareness during the May 15 “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Monster Mile.
Dash 4 Cash Format:
The NASCAR XFINITY Series will take racing back to its roots with Heat races, with the third of four Dash 4 Cash events this weekend in Dover. All Dash 4 Cash events are comprised of two Heats and a Main.
For these unique Dash 4 Cash events, traditional, single-car qualifying will determine the 40 eligible vehicles and starting positions for the two Heats, with the fastest qualifier receiving the Coors Light Pole Award. Odd-numbered qualifiers (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.) will start in the first Heat in respective order, while even-numbered qualifiers (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.) will start the second Heat in respective order.
The two Heats will set the starting positions for the Main, with the top two NASCAR XFINITY Series championship points-earning drivers in each Heat becoming eligible for the Dash 4 Cash bonus. Of the four eligible Dash 4 Cash drivers, the highest-finishing driver in the Main will be awarded a $100,000 bonus.
