While race teams had hoped to get time on the track, it wouldn’t be the case on Thursday as rain resulted in the cars staying in the garage for most of the day.
The XFINITY Series were able to get a 25 minute session in early in the afternoon, but saw the second session rained out completely.

Meanwhile, the Sprint Cup Series were only able to get five minutes on-track, with only eight cars getting in a lap. Ricky Stenhouse was the best of the bunch that took the track in the Roush Fenway Racing No. 17 Ford, recording one timed lap at 191.014 mph.
NASCAR has added a Friday morning practice session for the Sprint Cup Series as a result to allow the teams to get some more laps prior to qualifying Friday evening and Saturday’s race. The XFINITY Series schedule remains untouched.
