After a great night of action at Sauble Speedway, the OSCAAR Midgets turn their attention to Flamboro Speedway this weekend. Entering their third race of the year at the Hamilton-based oval with growing notebooks, this weekend’s race promises to be a thriller with a full field of drivers on track.
Alex Cuzzila is looking for another strong finish after posting a career best runner-up at Sauble last weekend. He did well last month at Flamboro, posting a fourth place finish.
Brian McDonald hopes to run well this weekend as he has yet to post a finish outside of the top-eight in the first five races, including three straight podiums as of recent. He’s done well in both trips to Flamboro this year, finishing fourth and second.
Wally Wilson looks to run up front on Saturday after axle issues relegated him to a 10th place finish at Sauble Speedway. He’s done well this year at Flamboro, finishing sixth and third.
James Stanley will also be tough to beat as he comes off his first career OSCAAR Midget victory last weekend at Sauble Speedway. He’s been strong at Flamboro, posting a runner-up finish in May.
Wayne McKibbon has started off this year real well with five straight top-seven finishes. He’ll look to carry the success forward to Flamboro where he finished fifth in both events this year.
Ryan Brown caught people off-guard at Grand Bend, scoring a heat victory followed by a runner-up finish in the main event. Since then, he’s been on a roll as he won the July event at Flamboro, followed by a fifth at Sauble.
Zack Milman didn’t start off his rookie campaign as he hoped with only one top-10 in the first three races. However in the past two events, including Flamboro in July, he has posted a pair of seventh place finishes.
Shawn Stanley enters this weekend with momentum after three top-10 finishes. He was solid last year at Flamboro, finishing seventh.
Bill Heatherton didn’t have the 2016 debut he had hoped for at Peterborough with a 12th place finish. Since then, he’s been a little stronger, posting a pair of eighth place finishes.
Darryl Anthony made his first start of the year at Peterborough, running into issues. However, he was able to things around with a sixth place finish at Flamboro in July. He’ll look to run in the top-10 once again after an 11th place finish at Sauble.
Monty Farrell made his 2016 debut at Flamboro Speedway a couple weeks ago, posting a solid ninth place finish. He’ll look to continue to get stronger this weekend.
Russ Couture may have started off a little rough with a quick roll-over in his debut at Flamboro, but three top-10 finishes despite that, including a season-best of sixth last week at Grand Bend. After crashing in his last trip to Flamboro, his team has been working feverishly on repairs in hopes of returning to the tour soon.
Richard Woodland hopes to keep his early season momentum going as he posted three podium finishes in the first three races, including a victory at Grand Bend Speedway.
Larry Lawson is on a roll with three straight top-seven finishes. He hopes to a good run at Flamboro after finishing seventh in May.
Brian Woodland is hoping to keep the early season momentum rolling after winning the season opener at Flamboro Speedway, followed by a third place finish at Peterborough Speedway.
Along with the OSCAAR Midgets at Flamboro Speedway this weekend will be the Outlaw Super Lates, OSCAAR Modifieds and OSCAAR Pro Midgets.
