BRIGHTON, Ont. (July 8, 2016) – The Workman’s OK Tire and Automotive Machine Shop Mid-Season bonus was issued this week to drivers in the Vanderlaan Building Products Pro Late Model division.
The newly created mid-season bonus awards an addition cash prize to the top-three drivers in the Pro Late Model standings at the unofficial halfway point of the season, following last weekends Canada Day Mid-Season championships.
The division point leader, Charlie Sandercock of Trenton, received a $500 reward as the top driver at the halfway mark. Sandercock has not finished outside the top-five at Brighton this season.
Second in the standings is Brighton native Phil Potts, who receives an additional $300 as part of the program. Potts has two wins so far this season, including during last Saturday’s mid-season triumph.
Finally, Brandon Mowat, who occupies third in the standings through eight races, receives a $200 bonus. Mowat does not yet have a win this season, but has been Mr. Consistent so far this year with seven top-five finishes.
The 2016 Vanderlaan Building Products Pro Late Model championship point fund is proudly supported by Workman’s OK Tire and Automotive Machine Shop, VP Racing Fuels, Hoosier Racing Tire and Stoneridge Specialty Insurance.
