To win tomorrow night’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway it appears that the field will have to go through Carl Edwards.
Edwards for much of the weekend has been the fastest man in Kentucky and it showed again in final Sprint Cup practice. Edwards timed in with a lap of 28.808 seconds (187.448 MPH). Martin Truex Jr. was second, .142 seconds behind.
Kyle Larson was third followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch. Kevin Harvick, Austin Dillon, AJ Allmendinger, Brad Keselowski, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Denny Hamlin 11th, Kasey Kahne 12th, Joey Logano 13th, Chase Elliott 14th, Kurt Busch 15th, Jimmie Johnson 18th, Tony Stewart 19th, Matt Kenseth 22nd, and Greg Biffle 24th.
