Coming to the finish line there was a “Ms. Where Did She Come From,” and that was in the form of Danica Patrick in her No. 10 TaxAct Ford Fusion.
While her new Ford teammate Joey Logano took the win, Patrick came from a mid-pack position to score a top-five finish.
Patrick spent the majority of the Advanced Auto Parts Clash in the middle of the pack and even found herself in the rear of the field at one time with Chris Buescher. At the end, mayhem ensued, and Patrick found openings that led her through some of the slower cars and took advantage to gain a fourth-place finish.
As Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch battled for second and third place, Patrick almost found herself in contention for second place. She brought home her best career finish in the Advanced Auto Parts Clash in her fourth attempt. In her first race with Ford, Patrick also gained her best career overall finish despite the race being a non-points race.
Patrick gained a spot in The Clash by virtue of winning the Daytona 500 pole in 2013, and later today she will search for her second career pole in Daytona 500 qualifying.
