The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) announced the series schedule on Tuesday for the 2018 season. The 66th season for the series is now set with 20 races across 13 states over the span of 2018. Highlighting the schedule includes returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway, Gateway Motorsports Park, and Berlin Raceway.
“We are pleased to announce our complete 20-race, 2018 schedule,” said ARCA President Ron Drager in the series release. “From superspeedways recognized among the most famed tracks in the world, to historic short tracks and mile dirt tracks, the schedule highlights the long-standing diversity of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. We’re especially pleased to welcome back to the schedule Charlotte Motor Speedway, Gateway Motorsports Park, and Berlin Raceway.”
The race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be during the 10-days of thunder NASCAR race weekend that culminates with the 58th running of the Coca-Cola 600. It will be the first time since 2004 that the ARCA Racing Series will race at Charlotte. Ryan Hemphill won in the series’ most recent trip. Drivers like the late Adam Petty, Kerry Earnhardt, Mario Gosselin and Ryan Newman have all found found victory lane at Charlotte in ARCA.
The last time the series visited Gateway, it was the late Bryan Clauson who would earn his first and only victory in the series back in 2007. The series has only raced at Gateway a total of six times with a different winner each time. ARCA will accompany the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series that weekend.
