Edgar continues to dominate Wingless Wednesdays, J.T. McCracken flips in his heat and comes back to win the Quad Feature Saturday Evening, 2 Nights of action on tap for this week.

Mike Kalman and Toby Blumenshine initially would lead the field to the first green attempt for the start of the 270 Wingless Wednesday feature last Wednesday and it would be Blumenshine that went right to the front after 2 failed attempts for the start that saw Kalman spinning on both tries and having to start at the rear of the field.  Blumenshine would have bumper full of Glenn Macomber, but after a mishap in turn 3 when Adam Minzer spun and gathered up several other cars, the red flag would fly to check on the drivers that were involved, including Troy Hoffman and Mike Kalman.  Hoffman and Minzer’s cars would not be able to continue on, and while attempting to restart, Kalman’s car came to a stop in turn 1 and he would also pull off the track.  Blumenshine and Macomber brought the field back to the green and it wasn’t long before Macomber felt the pressure from Brandon Edgar.  Edgar would eventually gain the runner up spot and then put his focus on the leader and by halfway, the 88 was out in front leading the way and started to put a few cars a lap down.  At the checkers it was Brandon Edgar with his 2nd win of the 2018 season followed by Toby Blumenshine and Glenn Macomber.  Ronald Helmick took him a solid 4th place finish and rounding out the top five was Mike Rutherford.  The heat race was won by Toby Blumenshine.

Feature winners were Jacob Taylor in the Junior Slingshots and Cliff Brian Jr in the Wingless 125’s.  Jason Dunkelberger would continue his win streak in the Xcel Modifieds and Brett Bieber would be victorious over the large turn out of Senior Slingshots.

The Saturday night program had many racers getting their Karts ready for the opening event of the 2018 Burris Money Series that was being held the next day such as Kevin Greenawalt, Brad Eroh, Zack Korch and Patrick O’Brien.  There was some great racing in the Animal Champ Light class between the top three drivers, that saw Terry Noll edge out Andrew Maurer and Casey Boone to take home his first win of the season.

The biggest story of the night could be credited to J.T. McCracken, one of the Quad Class riders. This was the first race of the year for the division, and had a very large turnout for the class, and the fans were even treated to an exhibition of the upcoming Junior Quad class that is coming soon.  J.T was already having a busy night as he would help his son get out on the track to show the fans what these little racers could do, but then in his heat, J.T. would end up flipping his quad in after contact with another racers wheel, causing his front end to dig in and sending him into a front flip that ended with the quad coming to rest on top of him.  The red flag would come out and other riders and track safety crew were there almost instantly helping lift the quad off of him and see if he was ok, to which he gave big thumbs up to everyone watching.  McCracken would shake it off and come back to line up for the feature later in the evening after repairing his ride.  At the end of the event, he would be the first racer across the finish line and score the win after a rough start to his evening.

Next up on the schedule will be the Wingless Wednesday series will continue on April 25 followed by Saturday April 28 with the PA Mini Pro Tractors returning to have some fun along with the Karts, Slingshots, Quarter Midgets and Xcel Modifieds.  Also a reminder to anyone with a Quarter Midget, the classes are open to any racer, you do not need any sanctioning, licensing or membership to run.  The Quarter Midgets also race for a payout and season points.

Drivers are reminded that they do need Raceivers to hear race control while on the track and that there is a new process for entering the pits, so please arrive early Saturday.   Also ALL drivers are required to have a Transponder Pouch mounted on their race vehicle.  They are available at the track if you need one.

Gates open at 1:30 pm Saturday afternoons. REGISTRATION IS 1:30 TO 4:00 PM. Warm-up/practice session starts at 4:00 pm. Call-in entries can be made up to 4:00 pm and drivers will be placed in their original starting position. (If after 4:00 pm, driver will start in the rear of their class.) Admission is $7 for fans ages 13 and over and under 12 are admitted free.  The track has ample free parking for fans.

Wingless Wednesday series featuring the 270 Wingless Micro Sprints, 125 Micro Sprints as well as the Xcel Modifieds and the Junior and Senior Slinger Shots.  The heat racing action begins at 7 PM each week.  Wednesday Grandstand admission is $7.00 for ages 13 and older and children under 12 are FREE.  Pit Passes are $15.00, the required transponder fee is $5.00 and individual class entry fees are as follows:”Wingless” 270/125 Micro Sprints are $30.00, JR/SR Slingshots are $20.00 and Xcel Modifieds are $20.00.
