Orillia, ON – With just four races under his belt in 2014, Orillia racer Taylor Holdaway has already racked up a three top ten finishes (4th, 5th & 9th) in competition at Sunset Speedway. His worst result to date came on May 17th when his #41 Ford Fusion suffered electrical problems and produced a 13th place finish. Overall, it has been a good opening month for Holdaway and he feels positive about where the team is headed.
“All of this hard work is going to pay off! We just need to keep digging” he said. “We are happy with the new car, it’s just a matter of time before we are standing in victory lane”.
That nearly happened in the first race of the season as he led much of the Spring Derby 100 before being passed on a late restart and finishing 4th. His recent top five on May 24th in the second of ten Super Series races at Sunset has the team headed back in the right direction.
Recently the team announced its 2014 schedule where Holdaway plans to compete full-time at Sunset Speedway. During off nights at Sunset he will run a limited amount of races at Barrie Speedway for car owner Peter Schotanus. The team also plans to compete at many of the major year-end events including the Gary Reynolds Memorial at Barrie, The Velocity 250 at Sunset and the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
