Power wins Grand Prix of Houston Race 2

Will Power would take the lead on lap 40 of 90 and hold on the rest of the way to pick up the win this afternoon in Houston.

Scott Dixon finished second to take over the series points lead heading into the final event, 25 points ahead of Helio Castroneves.

James Hinchcliffe rounded out the podium after a poor finish in race one due to mechanical problems.

There was a scary wreck in the race when Dario Franchitti and Takuma Sato made contact, causing Franchitti to fly up in the air and hit the catchfencing. Franchitti would be taken to the ambulance on a stretcher, and was later diagnosed with a broken spine, broken ankle and a concussion. Sato and E.J. Viso, also involved in the incident, were injured.

A track official was also taken to be treated for injuries due to the debris. 13 fans were hit by debris, but none required a trip to the hospital.
