During the final race of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series season at Auto Club Speedway, Justin Wilson was involved in a multi-car crash. As a result, he has sustained some injuries.
“Dale Coyne Racing driver Justin Wilson was released from Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Calif., on Oct. 21 and returned to his home in Colorado,” INDYCAR stated. “Wilson sustained non-operable pelvic fractures and a small pulmonary contusion in a multi-car accident on Lap 111 of the MAVTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway on Oct. 19.”
Wilson got loose and when his car snapped sideways, he was hit by Tristan Vautier. In total, six drivers were involved in the incident with the rest able to walk away without injury. Will Power won the race while Scott Dixon secured his third series championship.
