Lofton Planning Success This Weekend In Texas

Justin Lofton was lifted by the numerous prayers sent out by the NASCAR Community after he was sent to a hospital following a last lap Talladega crash. Lofton was wished a speedy recovery and that it has been, as he will pilot Sharp-Gallaher Racing’s No. 6 machine this weekend in Texas Motor Speedway.

Lofton’s team will bring chassis No. 80 to the racetrack this weekend. That chassis has been driven by both Lofton and Max Gresham this year. Lofton last took the chassis to a 9th place finish in Charlotte earlier this year.

The South Carolina native isn’t a stranger to the 1.5 mile track in Fort Worth, Texas as he won the Coors Light Pole Award in the June 2012 NCWTS (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series) event. The last time Lofton saw the tricky Texas Motor Speedway was in November of last year. Lofton ran out of fuel late in the event which cost him a top ten spot and eventually forcing him to take the checkers in the 22nd position.

Justin Lofton hasn’t been getting seat time through 2013 in the NCWTS. The 26-year-old has entered into an event with Sharp-Gallaher Racing just six times throughout 2013. He’s been able to snatch one top five and two top ten finishes in the limited starts. With prior knowledge at Texas Motor Speedway the bar is raised a little higher than normal.

“I’m looking forward to heading back to Texas (Motor Speedway). We have good notes from last year’s races.” Lofton expressed about returning to Texas. “We didn’t qualify as well as we would have liked last year, but the truck came to life during the race and the track’s conditions changed. I think we’ll be solid this weekend.”

Justin Lofton’s success has been at the Intermediate tracks in his NCWTS career. Lofton’s success took a huge leap when he saw victory lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway, he’s also added to that list with 17-top ten finishes.

Many drivers have already etched in stone their 2014 plans, but Lofton is among the ones who haven’t. Justin understands he can flip those tables easily this weekend with a trip to victory lane.
