As the 2014 racing season continues to near closer and closer, more series have begun to unveil their 2014 schedules. This week, Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup unveiled their eight race schedule to drivers and fans.
The L.O.S.C series is run under the sanctioning body of the National Stock Car Association, NSCA, and consists of cars that met the existing specifications and dimensions of the CASCAR. CASCAR was ran up until 2006, where it was bought by NASCAR. NSCA has since filed in the gap, taking those CASCARs and changing them slightly to develop their own series. Consisting of cars that weigh at 1295 kilograms (2850 pounds) with 500 horsepower motors, these drivers put on a top notch show across the province for race fans.
Last year, Shawn McGlynn won the championship, 11 points ahead of Josh Wood.
The 2014 season will start at the beach with a trip to Sauble Speedway on June 7th. The series will head east on July 5th when they hit Capital City Speedway in Ottawa as CCS looks to expand their program this coming season.
Other tracks include Peterborough Speedway on August 9th, followed by Delaware Speedway on September 19th.
Lastly, L.O.S.C cars will make four trips to Flamboro throughout the season – June 28th, July 19th, August 23rd and the season finale on October 4th. The season finale will come as part of Flamboro Speedway’s huge Frostfest invitational weekend.
