Sunset Speedway postpones Spring Derby due to rain

Due to the rain expected throughout the day and night today, Sunset Speedway has postponed the Spring Derby presented by Great Lakes Concrete to Sunday at 3 p.m. EST.

Looking at the forecast now, it seems there may be a little bit of rain in the morning, but it should clear up quick and allow for a great afternoon of racing.

Sunset Speedway officials announced that the pit gate will open at 10 a.m. EST, grandstands open at 1 p.m. with racing starting at 3 p.m. Grandstand admission costs $22.00 with seniors/students being $17.00 and children under 12 free. On the pit side, it’ll cost $30.00 with children 12 and under being $15.00.

With cars expected to show up from different tracks across the province, look for the competition to be high as Sunset Speedway opens their season in the biggest way possible.
