MUSKOKA, ON- Following a strong 8th place finish in the Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midgets opener at Flamboro Speedway, former club champion Daniel Bois has set his sights on Sunday May 18th’s event at Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, ON
“I’m looking forward to racing at Sunset this weekend”, said Bois as the DB Autosport team worked to scale their car in anticipation of Sunday’s event. “In my opinion, it’s the best short track in Ontario. It’s fast, it’s got lots of room and it really allows a driver to move around and find different lines that work for your car”
The Muskoka, ON-based veteran is returning for his first full schedule with the Can-Am Midgets in several seasons, and was pleasantly surprised with the elevated level of competition he faced at Flamboro.
“We had a good solid top-10 at Flamboro, but I need to step it up”, explained Bois with a smile. “This roster is incredibly deep. There’s a great mix of veterans and youngsters in this club, and everyone seems to be working overtime to bring their programs up a notch”
When asked his strategy for the 2014 season, Bois explains that consistency is nice, but every driver is looking for their spot in victory lane.
“I need to start competing for wins, or I’ll be a real unhappy guy”, states Bois. “I’m as motivated as I’ve ever been. I’ve been pushing myself all winter to mentally prepare for this season. This weekend, the goal is to come out and knock off our first win of the season”
Daniel Bois’ 2014 season is made possible thanks to London Recreational, ProWraps, Bennett GM, Castrol Edge, Thermal Technology, MBRP, Auto Glym and Project Track Champion.
Sunday’s event at Sunset Speedway is scheduled for a 6:00 start. Gate times and ticket prices are available at www.SunsetSpeedway. Follow Daniel on Twitter @DBAutosport for updates all weekend long.
