Newton, IA (May 18, 2014) – The Get to Know Newton 250 is complete at Iowa Speedway. Below are the results for the TriStar Motorsports drivers:
Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap Camry®
Eric McClure brought the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry home 24th today at Iowa Speedway. After qualifying 32nd for the Get to Know Newton 250, McClure was ready to roll. McClure reported, very early on, that his Camry was tight in the center of the turns. During the first caution, the No. 14 team made a track bar adjustment to help the car. After 97 laps were complete, McClure was sitting 28th and the team continued to make adjustments. After a late race caution for teammate Mike Bliss, McClure ended up finishing 24th. Hal Martin, No. 44 American Custom Yachts Camry
Hal Martin and the No. 44 American Custom Yachts Camry were fast all weekend at Iowa Speedway. In his first NASCAR Nationwide Series race this season, Martin qualified 27th and finished the race 26th. Martin battled his way through the field and with the first caution shown early on, the team decided to come to pit road for four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment. The “Ragin Cajun” was reporting that his No. 44 Camry was loose in, tight middle and loose off, so the team decided to make adjustments under caution. With 12 laps to go, Martin was sitting 26th, which was were he finished the Get to Know Newton 250.
Mike Bliss, No. 19 Tweaker Energy Shot Camry
Mike Bliss and the No. 19 Tweaker Energy Shot Camry qualified 19th for today’s race at Iowa Speedway and brought home a 31st place finish. By the first caution, Bliss had worked his way from 19th to 16th. Under the first caution, the No. 19 Tweaker Energy Shot Camry came to pit road for four tires, fuel and adjustments. Around lap 70, Bliss came on the radio reporting that his Camry was “extremely tight.” With 32 laps to go, Bliss was sitting in the 13th position when he unfortunately slid up into the wall on the front stretch and was unable to drive his Camry back to the garage. Bliss was checked and released from the Infield Care Center following his wreck. Driver Standings: 13th
