June 6th Race #9
It’s always good to see new promoters bring race tracks back to life again. Such is the case with Full Throttle Speedway, formerly known as Varney Speedway. The owners have done their best to work with other races track by not competing on the same night and by accepting other track rules so racers from different race tracks can compete.
Our car was strong in the warm ups as we tried new American Racer tires. All other Modified’s were using Hoosier tires. We were testing the American Racer in hopes of being competitive as well as supporting our friends at Grisdale Enterprises.
The format at Full Throttle is double feature races, no qualifying heat races. We ran two 20 lap events and finished 4th and 5th.
Our next race at Full Throttle is next Friday June 20th
Coming Soon……Race #10
This Saturday, June 14th we head to Barrie Speedway for the 3rd in the OSCAAR Modified tour. Front gates open at 5 with racing starting at 6:30.
In our quest to reach 700 consecutive nights, we are closing in with 696 as of last Friday night. There was no racing for us last Saturday though we supported our granddaughter and had our car on display at Sunset Speedway.
This Coming Saturday Morning
This Saturday morning we will be on display at West Highland Baptist church located in Hamilton on the mountain. My crew chief Bob Pereira and I will arrive early in the morning, hand out our Quaker State anniversary books and give away our new autograph cards.
