June 14th Race #10
We were on display in the morning for the annual Fathers Day Classic car show then headed to Barrie Speedway for our 3rd race in the OSCAAR Modified tour series.
FAST FROM THE START
Our car was very fast out of the gate. Our crew got it ready for hot laps and we were very quick during practice and satisfied after one session.
First Career Modified Win
After finishing 3rd in our first qualifier we had a great starting spot in the second heat and made good use of it, taking the checker in our first ever OSCAAR Modified win.
Our car was handling awesome and only needed a few small changes for the 30 lap feature event.
We got the lead on lap one in the feature. It was a tough battle with a few cars in the early going. Side by side on the short tight oval made the race very exciting.
We lead from lap one until lap 27. There were 5 cautions in that span, and by lap 17 we were developing a power steering problem making the car hard to turn.
Our power steering woes got worse to the point we could not get the car to turn when on the inside. On the final restart we would have been wrecked had we tried to race hard into the corner and not make the turn. We did manage to come away with a runner up position, as the wall says, getting 2nd, our best feature finish since 2010 and a great point night for our team.
