INNISFIL, Ont. – Eric Yorke would battle hard all Saturday night at Sunset Speedway on his way to finishing seventh in the feature.
Yorke battled hard throughout his heat, including a thrilling battle for the second spot coming to the checkered flag with Nicole Podewils. Unfortunately, Podewils would win out in the battle, handing Yorke the third finishing spot. Yorke would start mid-pack for the ‘Dash for Cash’, battling hard to finish ninth.
Come feature time, Yorke got a good draw to have him start in the second spot. Miles Tyson got the advantage on the start as Yorke held down second till the caution at lap three. On the restart, eventual feature winner Brandon McFerran got by, knocking Yorke back to third by caution #2 at lap five.
On the restart, Yorke battled side-by-side with Podewils, slipping back to fifth as both Podewils and Billy Melenhorst were able to get by at lap seven. Yorke then slipped back to sixth at lap 10 as a result of Spring Derby 100 winner Andy Kamrath getting back.
In the final five laps, Ben Melenhorst also got by Yorke, resulting in a seventh place feature finish.
