@DumoulinLP – @WeatherTech – MIRABEL, QC – For the second year in a row, behind the wheel of the #47 WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has crossed the finish line in third place during the “Jiffy Lube 100” event presented by La Petite Bretonne, which took place on the ICAR circuit in Mirabel.
Only two points behind the championship leader, it is safe to say that crew chief Mario Gosselin, King Autosport, and the rest of the team have met their objective: to position themselves well for the two races in Western Canada.
On the starting grid in fourth place, it is with strategy that Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has fought at the top of the pack throughout the race, which was punctuated with a single neutralization.
“The #47 WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge was fast. We were patient at the beginning, as I fought with #03 for part of the race, which made me lose ground to the first two racers, and I had to push hard to catch up afterwards. The tires overheated, and when I got behind them the car was slippery. I was patient for a few laps, as there was no yellow flag, and I put pressure on Alex (Guénette), even if the opportunities presented themselves, I decided to play it clean with him and concentrate on gaining points in the championship,” explains Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
In the history of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series, it is the second all-Quebecer podium. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin had the victory for the first one on the Canadian Motorsport Park circuit last year (September 2013).
“The team has been able to remain consistent and end up in the top five for three events in a row. It’s our first podium with Mario Gosselin and the King Autosport team, the guys have done a really good job,” shares the driver of the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare.
The #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare team is now headed for Western Canada to participate in the next two events on oval circuit: Edmonton and Saskatoon on July 11 and 16, respectively.
*The race will be broadcasted on TSN – July 13 at 11:00 a.m. ET; RDS – July 17 at 9:30 p.m.
