INNISFIL, Ontario – This weekend at Sunset Speedway, Terry Woodley would run a pair of features, posting a 21st place finish on Saturday night, and a 15th place finish on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday night marked Sunset Speedway’s welcoming partying to the Sauble Speedway drivers, marking a total of 45 cars trying to make the 28 car feature. Starting pole in his heat, Woodley battled hard all 15 laps, though finished seventh and qualified his way into the feature.
Come feature time, Woodley would start 13th and battled hard early to remain 13th at the first caution at lap eight. After the restart, Woodley would fall back a spot to 14th, though kept battling hard and solidly. Falling back a couple more spots, Woodley’s solid run would coming to a spinning end as he’d go for a spin at lap 19 while running 19th.
Restarting at the tail end of the field, Woodley would make some passes in the 11 laps en route to posting a 21st place finish.
On Sunday afternoon, Woodley went into the hot day looking for a better result – though knowing the competition would be tougher with it being an all-out invitational. The afternoon started off great as Woodley would post a fourth place finish in his heat to qualify 12th in the 28-car field.
On the drop of the green flag, Woodley battled hard, though would fall back to 16th by the first caution at lap six. Once back under green, Woodley would make a pass to move back up to 15th. From there, Woodley battled hard to maintain his track position and stay on the lead lap, completing the feature in the 15th spot.
