Eric McClure Ready for Redemption at Watkins Glen: Eric McClure will be making his sixth Nationwide Series start at Watkins Glen International on Saturday afternoon. His best finish at the 2.45-mile, 11-turn road course dates back to 2012 when he crossed the finish line in the 26th spot. One year ago, McClure was on course to earning a track-best finish when a tie-rod broke on the No. 14 Camry with 21 laps remaining. Although the team made quick repairs, there wasn’t enough time to make up the ground lost in the pits resulting in a 28th-place finish.
McClure’s thoughts on Watkins Glen: “Watkins Glen is a track that’s fun to drive. It’s fast and less technical than other road courses on the circuit. We haven’t had a great history there, but we had a good run going there last year before we broke a tie-rod. Hopefully we can put ourselves in position for a good day.
No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry: Crew Chief Wes Ward and the Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® crew will unload chassis No. 5 for Saturday’s race. This chassis’ last run was at Road America where McClure brought home a 20th place finish.
