INNISFIL, Ontario – This past weekend, Terry Woodley would compete on both Saturday and Sunday towards the 2014 points championship, and had a lot of success in scoring a pair of wins, and a pair of top seven feature finishes.
Woodley started off Saturday in style by winning his heat. It marks Woodley’s first heat victory as a Mini Stock competitor at Sunset Speedway. Woodley would carry that momentum into the Dash for Cash, scoring a solid fifth place finish against the top drivers.
Come feature time, Woodley would start 13th in the field, and began to immediately work his way up through the field, running seventh by the time the first caution waved at lap 14. Woodley then battled hard the rest of the race on a pair of restarts to hold off all charges, posting a seventh place finish.
On Sunday, Woodley started off the evening by posting a fifth place finish after signing autographs for the fans. As a result, he would be forced to run the consolation race to qualify for the feature. Well, he did that in style as he picked up the victory.
The redraw would go perfectly for Woodley as he would draw the fourth place starting spot for the feature. Racing around the top drivers in the point standings, Woodley kept himself in the fourth spot all the way till lap 15, when he was passed by points leader Brandon McFerran. Woodley looked to have fifth locked up, when a caution would fly on the last lap for a spin by Chandler Bois. On the restart, Woodley got going quickly, but not quick enough as Danny Benedict was able to sneak by. As a result, Woodley would finish sixth in the feature.
